Solar thermal collectors use the power of the sun to provide heat for space heating
and hot water -- for free,
reliably, and without an environmental impact.
The heart of flat-plate and evacuated-tube collectors is the absorber.
It takes up the energy in sunlight and converts it into heat. The more efficient the
absorber, the greater the
collector's output.
Absorber
With its highly selective blue TiNOX energy absorbers, Almeco sets industry
standards.
These products absorb 95% of incident sunlight.
At the same time, they only lose some 4% of heat radiation, so that around 90% of
the solar energy can be used as
heat.
TINOX ENERGY AL
TiNOX energy Al uses an aluminium substrate as carrier material.
The benefits of this metal: aluminium is very inexpensive and has low weight. It also displays good thermal
conductivity, so little energy is lost when heat is transferred to the heating circuit. Aluminium can be recycled
without any trouble.
TiNOX energy Al is produced in a high-tech sandwich structure of several metal and ceramic layers.
The basis of the absorber is an aluminium substrate, which is electrochemically polished, sealed and optionally
anodized before being coated.
An infrared reflective layer, an adhesion layer and the actual absorber layer, which has a multilayer cermet
structure, are applied onto the aluminium.
The absorber is protected by a thin layer of quartz glass, which is very hard and thus scratchproof, protecting the
absorber against damage during manufacture.
The quartz glass minimizes reflection at the same time, thus improving the absorption of solar radiation.
